Glutino has introduced Milano-like fudge and mint fudge Italian creme cookies as well as a version of graham crackers. Glutino parent Boulder Brands is offering shoppers a $7 rewards e-card when purchasing three Udi's, Glutino, evol, Gardein or Earth Balance products at one time. The rebate can be submitted up to three times per person through October 15.

Goodie Girl Cookies' new gluten-free fudge striped cookies are now available exclusively at Walmart. A 75-cents-off coupon is available at the company's website.

Schar's two newest crackers sold in the United States are sea salt snacker thins and European-made Italian crostini.

In addition to no added sugar, KIND's new Fruit Bites do not contain any juices, purees, concentrates, preservatives or genetically engineered ingredients. Each snack has three ingredients or less and is made with real fruit, like cherries, apples and mangoes. The suggested retail price is $4.99 per five-pack box.

In time for the fall, Amazon.com-owned Whole Foods has debuted gluten-free pumpkin spice bites, pumpkin pie spiced apple-filled snacks.

Giving Thanks

Gone are the days when Thanksgiving was a holiday where those eating gluten free had to do without. Here's a quick run-down of widely available products (as always, review ingredient labels for specific items):

Turkeys: Fresh and frozen unstuffed turkeys from Perdue, Butterball, Empire (kosher), Jennie-O and Shady Brook Farms are gluten free. Store-brand turkeys may also be gluten free; check the labels.

Hams: Hams from HoneyBaked and Wellshire Farms are gluten free.

Gravy: McCormick recently introduced a gluten-free turkey gravy mix, and Imagine Foods makes an organic gluten-free and non-dairy turkey-flavored gravy. (Imagine has a dollar-off coupon offer here.)

Stuffing: There are many gluten-free stuffing mixes and cubes on the market these days. Look for varieties from Glutino, Gillian's, Rudi's, Trader Joe's, Williams-Sonoma and Whole Foods.

Pies: Gillian's produces gluten-free pumpkin, blueberry and apple crisp pies, while Whole Foods bakes pumpkin, apple, cherry and pecan pies at its GlutenFree Bakehouse. (Look for a dollar-off coupon in the holiday edition of the Whole Foods' in-store circular.) There are too many manufacturers of gluten-free baking mixes and pie crusts to mention here, but those are also options.

Also check with your nearest gluten-free bakery for freshly baked Thanksgiving pies. Locally, Sweet Christine's in Kennett Square, and Sweet Freedom in Center City Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr and Collingswood are accepting holiday orders.

This week, Delaware and New Jersey beach towns are the places to be to eat gluten free. Options at The Penguin Diner in Bethany Beach (105 Garfield Parkway, 302-541-8017) include omelets, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, Cuban sandwiches and fries. Gluten-free items are marked on the menu. Just down the block, The Frog House (116 Garfield Parkway, 302-539-4500) kitchen staff prepares gluten-free pancakes on a separate part of the grill and serves crab cakes.

Bethany mainstay Sedona (26 Pennsylvania Ave., 302-539-1200) can accommodate gluten-free diners, grilled eggplant and scallops are among the gluten-free options at nearby Patsy's (121 Campbell Place, 302-537-2433). Other items can be modified.

In Ventnor, The Ladle of Luv (7307 Ventnor Ave., 609-822-5683) serves many prepared gluten-free foods to-go and also has a small seating area for freshly made meals. The gluten-free menu includes wraps, burgers, crab cakes, quesadillas and mac-and-cheese. (I reviewed next-door neighbor Salt Ayre Bistro in Tuesday's post.)
