Evol Foods has expanded its line of certified-gluten-free options with three new enchilada varieties: Chipotle Chicken & Uncured Bacon, Carnitas & Salsa Verde and Cilantro Lime Chicken.
Three of the four new Sweet Balanced Breaks from Sargento are gluten free. They include Natural Cheddar Cheese, Sea-Salted Roasted Almonds, Raisins and Greek Yogurt-Flavored Drops, Monterey Jack Natural Cheese, Dried Cranberries and Dark Chocolate-Coated Peanuts, and Monterey Jack Natural Cheese, Dried Cranberries, Dark Chocolate Chunks and Banana Chips. The snack packs, which combine natural cheese with dried fruits and dark chocolate,.feature 5-7 grams of protein and fewer than 200 calories.
Quaker's newest gluten-free Popped rice crisps flavor is Sea Salt & Lime.
If it's Easter, it must be Peeps season. Target has exclusive varieties of the gluten-free marshmallow Delights: Triple Chocolate, Vanilla Caramel Brownie (both filled), Vanilla and Raspberry. The Vanilla Caramel Brownie version has received raves.
Strongbow Orange Blossom hard cider will debut next month. The company says the new flavor delivers "a fresh, spring-like orange blossom aroma with a touch of sweetness and a juicy apple finish," The beverage is 4.5 percent alcohol by volume.
Modern Mediterranean Carmel Kitchen in Warrington (1613 Main St., 215-279-9607) and Allentown (3750 Hamilton Blvd., 484-350-3147) offers a gluten-free menu.
The Paxos family of restaurants - Firepoint in Newtown Square (3739 West Chester Pike, 484-428-3093), blue grillehouse in Bethlehem (4431 Easton Ave., 610-691-8400), and Torre (2960 Center Valley Pkwy., 610-841-9399), Center Valley's Top Cut (2880 Center Valley Pkwy., 610-841-7100) and Melt (2880 Center Valley Pkwy., 610-798-9000) all offer gluten-free dishes. Torre has a formal gluten-free menu, while servers at the other locations will advise guests of their options upon request. Note that the Torre kitchen has a shared fryer, so baked nacho chips can be substituted for the yucca fries and fried chips.
It's not too early to be thinking about the Jersey Shore. In Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, Tucker's Tavern (101 S. West Ave., 609-492-2300) notes gluten-free options on its dinner menu.
The lengthy list of gluten-free-friendly restaurants in King of Prussia continues to grow. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that opening later this year at the Town Center complex are fast-casual Choolaah Indian BBQ, which will have a variety of gluten-free bowls, plates and salads, and Muse Paintbar, a paint-and-wine bar that has gluten-free options.
Snap Custom Pizza, which offers quick-fired gluten-free pies, is opening its sixth area location in Conshohocken (6 E. First Ave.) this spring, reports Philly.com.
Carrabba's Italian Grill locations in Marlton and Egg Harbor Township have closed, as has sister restaurant Outback Steakhouse in Lawrenceville.
