Go Naked

The Naked Chocolate Café recently opened its third Philadelphia location at 31 South 18th Street, near Rittenhouse Square. All three outlets sell a variety of gourmet chocolates, nearly all of which are gluten free. On a recent visit to the new store, I found that the only pieces that were not safe for celiacs were the maple crunch and the chocolate-covered pretzels, graham crackers and waffles.

The cafés also offer an assortment of gluten-free drinking chocolates, fruit coolers, teas, and coffees from Small World Roasters. The Rittenhouse menu also lists several desserts that appear to be gluten free, including the hot fudge sundae, chocolate fondue with fruit, and crème brulee.

The other locations are at 1317 Walnut Street in Center City and on the Penn campus at 3421 Walnut Street.

The Naked Chocolate Café has been added to my list of gluten-free friendly restaurants.
