Indian restaurant Coriander in Voorhees (910 Haddonfield-Berlin Rd., 856-566-4546) lists many gluten-free items, such as spicy corn soup, tandoori lettuce wraps, and the chicken kebab trio, on its menu.

Gluten-free pasta is available at Spring House's Po Le Cucina (805 N. Bethlehem Pike, 267-663-7204), where the kitchen keeps a dedicated pot on hand. Many items are or can be made gluten free. (Thanks to reader Shari S. for the tip.)

Say Cheez in Princeton (183D Nassau St., 609-924-2454), has gluten-free grilled cheese sandwiches, and the kitchen will prepare in a saute pan with a clean spatula upon request.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has introduced a "gluten allergen friendly" menu at its 10 tri-state locations to replace its gluten-free menu.

The all-gluten-free Sweet Christine's Bakery in Kennett Square is expanding and relocating. The bakery is moving from 132 West State Street to 503 Orchard Avenue, just off of Route 1, in about a month.

Saffron Road has introduced a new line of frozen meals and tacos inspired by traditional Korean cuisine. The frozen meals include Beef Bulgogi, Bibimbop with Beef, Gochujang Chicken and Bibimbop with Tofu. The frozen tacos, including a Korean-style chicken taco and a Korean tofu taco, combine vegetables and a homemade slaw into an organic corn tortilla. Consumers can find them in the frozen aisle exclusively at Whole Foods nationwide for the suggested retail price of $5.99 and $3.99, respectively.

San-J, known for gluten-free Asian cooking sauces, has debuted gluten-free versions of two Japanese soups, white miso and wakame. Both instant soups are certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization.

Italian soups were the subject of Tuesday's post. Mrs. Leeper's has three soup mix varieties - minestrone, pasta fagioli and lentil & pasta - making their way to stores.

Udi's is bringing four gluten-free frozen meals to the marketplace. The new items, now available at Whole Foods for $6.49 each, include:

  • Broccoli & Kale Lasagna, made with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, kale and onions and topped with a creamy white sauce;
  • Italian Sausage Lasagna, with layers of ricotta and Romano cheeses, parsley and Italian sausage;
  • Penne & Cheese, made with sharp cheddar and smooth Colby; and
  • Penne & Cheese with Bacon, topped with uncured bacon. 

The new Angry Orchard Green Apple hard cider is the first year-round style of Angry Orchard hard cider made with American apples, specifically culinary apples from Washington State. The tasting notes describe the new amber-hued Green Apple variety as having a "bright, fresh apple aroma and notes of honeydew melon and kiwi." It is 5% alcohol by volume.

King Arthur Flour has added banana bread and scone mixes to its gluten-free baking line.

Tickets for Celiac Awareness Day at the Phillies on Sunday, May 18 (a 1:35 p.m. start time) are now on sale. Proceeds from ticket purchases for the group seats using promo code CELIAC will benefit the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, and for an additional $10 you can power up your ticket with a $12 food credit. It's also the Phanatic's birthday, so all fans 14 and under will receive Phanatic Phun Glasses. In addition to an expanded food selection, fans will be able to enter to raffle at the NFCA table for two lower-level seats for a game later in the season, a preferred parking pass and a $50 food voucher.

  1. For the phillies game, when I click your link and follow to Phillies page, then click the "T" to buy tickets it takes me to a log-in page... but oddly its just asking for password and no username?

    Do you know, if I were to just order tix regularly does the Celiac org not get credit?
